How many of you have been to GSO (Greensboro Piedmont Triad Intl)? If you have been there, what did you think of the airport? And, how did you get there (airline, city, plane -or- drive)?

I know that BryanG has been there. I have also (Ive spent many many hours there).

I think Greensboro is a nice airport, but the terminal was a little cramped. I was there only briefly to make a connection on Continental Lite

I landed there twice enroute from RIC to CLT, but I didn't get off. Both times it was Piedmont Flight 41.

GSO is great, but the people in charge of the airport and the city leaders are all jerks in my book. Getting FedEx to come in and build a transportation hub was one of the worst decisions ever made. It's going to require a very costly third runway, which will only be used for three hours a day. Who will pay? Taxpayers. The benefits of the new FedEx hub come nowhere close to offsetting the cost of the new roads and runway, nor repay the thousands of people whose homes have dropped in value since the hub was announced.

You're right Bryan. But the local leaders will give everyone the bull line that it will bring many jobs to the community.
We all know what bull that is.

Hey Bryan, I agree with you about the FedEx thing - sort of. I think that they should have payed more attention to the public, but with all the improvements to the airport, it (larger airport, FedEx) will help industry, public (even though they don't think so, and the airport. With a larger and more modern airport, good maintaince facilities, a cargo hub, a terminal that can expand, and a larger population of people and business, it should help the airport grow and possibly get a small airline hub, which would greatly help the public.
