Following this delivery, the company awarded Jet Aviation with another completions contract for an Airbus 340-600. The aircraft will arrive at the Basel facility in April 2008 and delivery to the client is scheduled for mid 2009.

Be careful when reading the article, they are mixing Saad Air´s A320 and A340-600 a bit. The above mentioned timing indicates that Saad Air has ordered a second A340-600, their first one has been delivered by Airbus recently and should be fitted out at the moment. Thus I assume that this is an add-on order. Anyone able to confirm this? Order should be on the January 2007 book then.

FWIW the press release about Saad Air's A340-600 delivery includes that Saad Air is in negotations to 'double' its fleet in the near future.

"SAAD Air is also in negotiations to double its fleet in the near future, with a wide range of aircraft types for its private aviation business with VIP clientele"

Why don´t Saad Air go for A380 VVIP? A pipedream maybe, but anyway...

Would be awesome to get a look inside the flying palace.

Currently, you wouldn't see much more than an empty cabin.

But in a few months' time...

There appears to be a business aviation exhibition soon in Dubai. If they did indeed order an additional aircraft, perhaps it could be announced there.
