Count me in, it looks great. I still like an MD11 wearing Varig's livery better, specially the tail section.

Even if I prefer the TAM A330,s it makes me happy to see these birds getting a new life and a new livery! I liked the Varig livery but it for sure looks good as the "Magic Red Carpet" too!

Amazing! That bird looks almost like it was brandnew. The visible bare metal parts looks as shiny as if they were almost freshly done and cooled. I guess the wait has paid off, despite all the problems.

Flights JJ8096/JJ8097 GRU-CDG-GRU six times weekly and JJ8087/8086 CDG-GIG-CDG one flight per week, currently scheduled to start 15th February.

From mid March also JJ8090/JJ8095 GRU-MIA-GRU.

Very nice to see one of them in the air again, and I agree that it looks as new. It would be too great if the cabin interior would look similarly new...

What a shame TAM insists on that booooooooring livery.

oh well, maybe one day they'll change it. I would have preferred to see the MD with the blue underside of Varig left in there  Smile

WOW, indeed one of the nicest MD11's ever flying. The TAM livery really fits the MD11!!! Congrats to TAM!!! Will this aircraft only be used on European flights or can we see it in MIA (or maybe even to AUA during high season) as well on regular basis? Good luck to TAM!! Big grin

Saludos,

What are the interiors going to look like? Will they have the same swissair created first class seats and flat business class seats as on the 332s?

Nice to see any MD-11 in passenger service. Such good looking planes...

Really nice to see the M11 on JJ "Magic Red Carpet" livery.

Thanks for the news,

Why will they be flown GRU-CDG ? I understood the interior would not be updated. Why JJ is not keeping the A332 with more modern interior for premium passengers on that routes ? I believe AF is using updated F and J products on that route...

Yeah me too. I think the more detailed design of the MD11 adds a lot to the whole picture!

Looks fantastic!

The MD-11 sure looks great in the TAM livery, considering how weathered it looked in the Varig livery; all faded and dirty looking. Great plane I must say.

The MD-11 is one of a kind. It is the only modern trijet, and a true widebody. I never thought I'd see another pax MD-11 in new colors. Even though its temporary, it's great to see. Brazil has been a hot spot for MD-11s over the years. From the days of Vasp and RG to now TAM.  cool  It would be nice if TAM put one on the GRU-MIA route during the summer months.

Given by many of the posts on here, many, including myself, would jump at the chance to fly on the MD-11 while you still can. Catching a flight on one is very rare. And in two years the route will be back to A332s. Besides, how many A332s fly out of CDG on a daily basis? Exactly.  yes

There's nothing quite like a tri-jet.
