A little update for all you fellow CDNs out there… I was just out to see over some work on the 777 final line and realized that it was Air Canada's first 777-300ER. Should be out for delivery for Feb 13 if we can get all the NCR completed on time. But so far no major issues… She's looking fine all in prime !!!
I hope to get some pics when they finally paint her next week.

I think you confused the tail colors Dekx.
According to RobK's website, the line number for AC first 777 is 620. The latest line number that has rolled out of the factory I think is 612 (B-16706 of BR which is a 777-300ER), though I may be wrong. So it seems it's still a while til AC first 777 rolls out, but I believe you since you went to see the final Boeing 777 production line in person. We'll see.

Airplane Fan... 617 (Continental 2ER) is coming out tomorrow and Singapores 618 is awaiting engine install. We have Emirates whos getting fwd and aft barrels and is already on the line. AC620 is right behind them.
Both AF and 616 and 617 are completed. AF is in the 67 hanger currently. Both are not painted.
Should see AC end of the week.

Quoting Aseem (Reply 16): Look!! I am using your site to contradict you.
How exactly are you contradicting me? Where exactly am I contradicting myself? Are you seriously trying to tell me that 620 will roll out, test fly and deliver for 13 Feb?
From roll out to delivery of a 777 you've a time scale of 3 weeks minimum (typically more like a month to 5 weeks) so for ACA to deliver on 13 Feb it would have needed to have rolled out on 23 Jan at the latest and it hasn't even been made yet!
I am sure that Nick (Beech19) will back me up that ACA won't be taking their first 777 on 13 Feb! Try more like 13 March and I might start to believe you.

Actually, I was laughing at myself. Maybe didn't put correctly.

As for the question as to when AC will start flying the 777.
First routes to be flown will be rapidairs between YYZ-YUL-YOW and Londons to get the crews line indoc'd and transition checked. Once the initial cadre of pilots are checked out she should see HKG/PEK/NRT and other runs commensurate with it's range.
First crews are in Seattle now, with another course starting in Miami a couple of days ago after the sim their got the EFB certified. Most FA's have already done their training. I heard 355 seats with a J, premium economy and economy seats.
25 YOW: Since when has YOW been added to the roster? It would be amazing if that were true, but I've yet to hear anyone else say this. The old DC-9 fins are
26 C172Akula: Well if they are putting YOW in during the initial runs it would be great if they could take her out here to YYC once or twice while they are at it. I
27 SixtySeven: CNZ3 Thanks for the config info. I wasn't sure of the exact arragement of the -300. You say that there are not going to be any J+ seats. Are you sure
28 SixtySeven: If you think the rapidair thing is funny with such an a/c, get this. About six months ago, ACs corporate sked department told the 777 management team
29 KrisYYZ: The info on AC's fleet page is not entirely correct. AC has the B77L equipped with GE90-110bs engines, but GE's press release stated that all of AC 7
30 AC777LR: I think AC has the 115Bs on all ships, but they just cut and pasted the info on their web site from Boeings web site. Thats what I have been told.
31 Osiris30: I hope AC went with the bigguns... Can't wait to see this bad boy coming into YYZ. Anyone know when the first flight in YYZ is going to be? I work ab
32 SixtySeven: According to the guy I talked to, the -300 will have 115,000lbs and the -LR will have 110,000lbs. 5,000lbs less ain't much when dealing with outputs l
33 FighterPilot: Thunder Bay!! I was there when the 747SP was there, and that was something, but a AC 777 doing T and G's, now THAT would be cool! Cal
34 DekX: Hi again folks... we're still working out some typical kinks.. but from what I can see they should be throwing the wings on next week (early). This is
35 SixtySeven: Thanx DekX. They will have to do a bunch of acceptance flights then bring it to YUL to get the MAINT people to get familiar with it. Late March is sti
