Could someone please tell me why is CSA Czech Airlines is stopping the Prague - Edinburgh service?

Is it just due to poor loads?

How often do they currently operate the route?

GSM also operates on this route, and apparently Prague isnt as popular as it has been. OK carries a lot of connecting traffic on a lot of its flights, so maybe the EDI route was relying on O & D, which wasnt there.

Surely if the route has good loads and is making a profit, it won't matter if its O & D traffic, or connecting traffic?

It's not like EDI is short of slots or anything!

It stopped on 7th January! It's one of the stranger decisions it would seem. In it's last full month of ops in December achieved an average load factor of greater than 85% using CAA data. (Impossible to work out exact load factor due to GSM being on the route too but even using the CSA and GSM total to PRG it stil comes out at 85% so obviously it would have been higher than that once you've taken away the pax that GSM carried.)
So clearly they were filling the flights on a regular basis to the very end! You would have to assume that yields were a problem.

GSM only operated the route from the beginning of the winter timetable to just before xmas.

Actually it is at times.  Wink Especially on summer mornings between 7-8, no slots left.
