Is it true that Catair was supposed to be the name of clickair. I have come up with this article dating from September stating that Catair would start LCC service from BCN. It looked a lot like Clickair's concept which leeads me to ask if clickair was just the name finally retained for the airline ?

Regards

BM

I remember when we first heard about a Lo-Co in BCE, the name Catair was being bandied about alright.
I believed them to be , what became, Clickair.

If I'm not mistaken, and I could perfectly be, Catair is their legal name and Clickair the commercial name.

Hope it helps

Catair líneas aéreas S.A. is the legal name. It was never intended as the definitive name, but rather as one of the options being considered at the time.

Was Clickair set up as a Catalunya based airline, or as a Spanish based airline ?
If the former, I wonder would calling themselves 'Catalunya Air' or some such, have been an idea.
It would certainly pinpoint them geographically, as opposed to Clickair which could be an airline from anywhere.
Obviously the answer to that is no, hence the current name. I just wonder was it ever a consideration.
