Ya know, I don't typically like the result of these livery design efforts but this one looks pretty good! The only thing I'd change is the dotting of the I's. Oh and I'd rather not see it on an Airbus. :P

Tail is great but looks like a lot of white on the fuselage... maybe billboard titles?

With the billboard titles you are trading one fad for another. Perhaps another unique design feature, without going overboard?

The new Air India livery must look about like this (estimate!). Note: Lila Design did not create the new Air India livery but just made these temporary estimate illustrations to demonstrate the new paint design. Click on the images to magnify:

The cream color seems to be making the a/c look very graceful, much better (IMHO) than white!

It's more likely the new Air India livery is going to look like this (depicted on the Boeing 777-200 and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner). Though for the nose part it is not yet clear how it will look like.

OwlEye, I honestly don't think that little icon towards the nose is the Maharaja, as you have depicted. It is most likely the Centaur with the aircraft name below it. Someone has already mentioned that the aircraft name is on the plane already and that is the spot they usually place it. I seriously doubt they'd put a cartoon like mascot on the outside of the aircraft like that as if it were some LCC.

Maybe you're right, therefore these are mentioned as temporary illustrations and maybe due for an update later this week. But with a critical look and some imagination it could be the Maharaja or somethin else but certainly not the centaur.

 checkmark

I think the off-white makes the a/c appear more classy, not to mention stay (a little bit) cleaner.

In that case, somebody should inform AF that off-white is in!  Wink

..although the cleanliness of their fuselages is steadily improving
