I was walking my dog a few minutes ago and saw LH438 from FRA arrive at DFW, and the plane was an A333 rather than the usual A343. Anyone know why the change of equipment? I'm scheduled to fly LH in a few days would rather fly the A340. I've only flown the A340 once before and I'm looking forward to this flight.

Quoting AirStatDFW (Reply 4): LH in the winter usually downgrades to a A330. It has something to do with the Business class/First class. I believe the the A330 is in 2 classes and when they fly the A340 in it has 3 classes.
All of the A333's are 3-class (8-48-165). The A332's are in a 2-class config and those really don't make it to the US. The A333 flies to DFW on Fridays and a 3-class A343 for Saturdays and Sundays. Monday through Thursday it's a 2-class A343.
