Was just looking at arrivals for TUL this morning and noticed we had a 762 divert to here about 2am this morning. She was on the ground for a little over an hour before continuing to JFK. I am guessing medical. Anyone know?

Thanks,
Danny

It looks like it decided to divert to Tulsa while over southwestern Kansas. MX maybe?

Maybe so, since they have a huge MX facility at TUL. Smaller one at MCI too, but maybe TUL had the parts.

If it was a pax medical issue, AMA or OKC look closer to the point where their course changed. Could those stations even handle a widebody?

I doubt it was a mechanical. TUL is not an MX base for AA's 767. AFW is. If it was mechanical the likely would have gone to DFW where a replacement airplane if need be is available. My guess is that it was ill passenger. I will check today on the dispatchers irregularity report.

Looks like medical emergency. Maint. logbook indicates AED was used and Medical Kit opened.

i dont know if am interpreting this question correctly, but if i am, AMA handles 747s from UA once a month. 13502x300 foot runway is definitely enough for a widebody  Wink

Sorry, but you're not.

If I'd asked "Could those airports even handle a widebody?" you'd have been correct....

That's why I asked "Could those stations even handle a widebody?" meaning did AA have the ground handling capability for their widebodied aircraft at those airports...  Wink
