What do you think of the proposed Continental - Northwest Airlines settlement. Continental would essentially regain its independence, yet the carriers would retain their partnership. The threat of an NWA takeover would no longer be...

The settlement gets the job done. The settlement isn't ideal, I would have liked to see Northwest divest all Continental stock. But they divested enough to ensure Continental's independence, and to my surprise they quickly arrived at a split-the-difference figure on the share price. And NW and CO can still operate their code-share alliance, which doesn't seem to me anti-competitive. Ownership, not alliance, was the problem.
