I'm not sure where I saw the rumor but I think I read somewhere that Airbus is sending the A380 to JFK and IAD next month. Can anyone confirm?

I imagine it will eventually come to JFK, but I imagine more cities will see A388 service before JFK. VS has implied they will, assuming they end up taking the A388.

I sure hope it doesn't come to IAD, at least not until IAD is totally overhauled. It's bad enough with a 777 in that place.  covereyes

There was a brief mention in the Aviation Daily last week that said that it would visit both IAD and JFK in March. If I recall correctly, it said that Lufthansa would be involved, but didn't have any additional details.

It better not come to IAD in Feb.- I'll be out of town for half the month!  crying  Let it come in March, when it'll be easier for me to call in sick...

Sorry, NYC777. I didn't realize you were asking about her "World Tour" and not eventual scheduled service. So disregard Reply 1.  embarrassed

Yeah sorry, I should have been a little bit more specific. I was talking about a tour from Europe. Interseting that the US is practically the only major country that it hasn't visited.

Probably a mix of no US carriers will take it anytime soon (if ever) and that SFO and JFK, while the two most likely initial cities to see service, will see it well after many European, Middle Eastern, Asian, and Australian cities will so there is no compelling reason to send her over at the moment on a PR tour.

I hope so. I'll be at JFK on March 10th, coming back from GVA with LX. Would be incredible to see it in person!!!
