Just a heads up for all you spotters at PEK...

BA have sent a Boeing 747-400 (G-CIVR) on the BA039 today (Carrying just 2 pax!), instead of the usual B772, so if any of you fancy getting up for its 0700 arrival to maybe grab some pics of this rarity, you have been warned she is coming!

However if thats a bit too early for you, it is scheduled for departure back to London at 0950, so you can watch her as she heads off!

Carrying just 2 pax? Is this the result of the the strike that never happened?

Must be an awesome flight for those 2 people but quite freaky at the same time. Do you think they got upgraded?

How much did BA lose due to the 'strike'?

Yes.

I'd say there was a fair chance they did!

I'm not sure of this...

Wonder why that is? Maybe they were sending it there as there is increased demand. Is there any special event going on there in the next few days that would increase demand on flights?

I doubt it considering there was only 2 passengers on it!  rotfl

My guess would be that the return flight would have the increased demand. Or maybe with all the shuffling they're doing this was the equipment they had available to send?

By the way, how do you find out exactly which equipment will be sent besides on their website? I'm curious with all the cancellations if they will send a 744 to YYC because the flight is oversold (in the back anyways) just about every flight. Thanks in advance.

Sorry don't quite understand. IVR was in BOM yesterday and arrived at LHR this morning. It was on flight 139/138.
I think you got it wrong.

This is from ACARS:

Flight id: BA0039 [EGLL-ZBAA] [British Airways]

ACARS got it wrong, not me!

It was infact G-YMMF (B772) which flew on the BA039 to PEK...

I hope nobody in PEK got up early to go and see the B744 that never came!!

Not suprised at all for the loads. BA31 had literally no pax at all but carrying a full set of crew, and BA27 had about 30 pax from LHR arriving in HKG today.
