KU A320 on route to DXB diverts to RKT, keeps DXB open.

I wonder if this is a SOP requested by DXB CAA ?.

They had a landing gear fail to extend and so wanted a less busy airport and diverted. Aircraft was evacuated with minor injuries and a small fire, according to local news.

OK, I took a drive up to RKT today to see this for myself.

Apart from it being hosed down by the fire tender (maybe to clean it up), it all looks horribly normal!
