Hi!
I just got a notification by Delta (into my spam folder) that my flight from DTW to ATL was downgraded from an MD-88 to a crappy CRJ. Now I am wondering why DL would make such a move. Did they add a frequency and thus are using two CRJs instead or what's the deal? My old flight was DL 1225 and is now DL 4453.

Thats a shame, theres nothing like the kick in the pants you get when the MD's go to take off power!

CRJ MD88 CRJ CRJ today!
Its sad when the concept of having a CR7 show up on the route is exciting

Should have flown NW. They use a DC-9-50 on that route.

Now that really isn't their fault since you have configured the spam filter. Good thing you caught it though. I get emails from other folks in my company with the same email domain that get caught by the corporate spam filter so it isn't perfect technology.
Many reasons, perhaps they have moved flights around and for whatever reason the planners thought a CRJ at that time would be the best usage would be the best estimate.
Yeah, what date is the flight? Right now 4453 is showing up as FAY-ATL-HSV and goes nowhere near DTW. I'm guessing your flight is off in the distance and the flight number is getting reassigned to the DTW route at that time.

I remember when they ran widebodies between DTW and ATL!

Quoting Ushermittwoch (Reply 9): It's March 5th. I am coming in from CDG on AF and then connecting in ATL to get to MSN.
CDG-DTW-ATL-MSN?? You know, there's a thread here you might want to share that itinerary with

This isn't that big a deal... DL runs 3x CRJ, 1x CR7, and 3x M88 on the route now. Slight schedule changes-- when DTW gets Connection and when it gets mainline-- happen all the time.

Well I went from a MD-88 on the CVG-FLL flight to a CRJ-700. I'm looking forward to flying this bird. Since all I have ever flown was the CRJ-100/200 with Delta. I'm leveing March 28

I'll up you: DL used to send in 762's and 763's regularly into BDL, granted we have all mainline to ATL, but only 738's and MD-80's. Then we're stuck with 3x CRJ and 1 MD-88 to CVG. I miss seeing the 767 at BDL

Hey, its still mainline! Id say PVD still got the DL shaft worse than BDL did. Itd be one thing if it was E170's but CRJs on 3 hr flights is just aweful, esp when they used to fill 757s

I'll up you even more than DeltaGuy. SYR was all mainline to ATL just a couple of years ago, and in a month or two, it's 1 CR7 and 4 CR2s to ATL, 3 CR2s to CVG, and 4 DH8s to JFK. Don't take your mainline for granted.

I think you paid for a seat, not a seat on an MD88 or 757 or a 737, may be they should start charging more for different fleet types, that way your complaining would be justified..

Quoting Falstaff (Reply 13): Didn't DL fly L1011s into DTW from ATL?
Yes they did. I remember seeing them although I do not remember exactly when. Kinda remember watching one land on 27 at that time during the Winter months during the mid-70's.
