Folks,

will be flying on LH from HKG to FRA and wonder which lounge they use in HKG (I am in biz class).
Can I also use any SQ or TG lounge?

Would be great if someone had some info on this.

Tks,
best,
Ludwig

Thanks,
do you have an answer to the second part of my question (if there is any lounge of SQ and/or TG available for my use)?

The link I gave you states that it's the "Star Alliance Lounge" -- so I would guess that the answer to your question is "it is the SQ/TG lounge."

There is a very nice TG lounge worth checking out, but you can only access it when you're flying LH if you are Star Gold. If you are just LH Business Class, you will not have access to their lounge and will instead have to use the Star Alliance lounge.

SQ's lounge is nice, too, but doesn't have any view. I prefer TG's at HKG.

Happy travels.

Wrong.

Any Star C class ticket will get you to any Star C lounge. No status required.

You should use the TG lounge.

Right and wrong. The TG lounge in HKG is an F lounge, so an LH C customer won't get access.

According to the Star Alliance map of HKG, the TG, UA and SQ lounges are first class lounges, so they are only accessible for first class passengers and gold card holders. NH has a business class lounge close to gate 40 which is available for LH biz passengers.

The TG lounge has both a business class section and a first class section. I was there recently.

The link in my reply got messed up, and somehow I can't get it right.

To get the image, type www dot plus the following: staralliance.com/int/int_img/destinations/airports/HKG_map_large.gif

That's not correct.

TG/UA/SQ all have C lounges as well.

ANA lounge is (or at least used to be) the Plaza Premium and one would not get in there with Star C class.

No problem. Oneworld has a similar policy but many lounge dragons are unaware of it. For example, flying BA F ex-HKG you can access the Wing/Pier of CX.

Quoting Star Alliance:
Lounges

Lounge Access for International First Class: Customers who present an International First Class boarding pass, regardless of the Star Alliance carrier they fly, have lounge access. They and one guest, are welcome to visit first class lounges or any other members' departure lounges when departing on a Star Alliance flight. Note: AC, BD, OS and SK do not have international first class service.

Lounge Access for International Business Class: Customers who present an international Business Class boarding pass, regardless of the Star Alliance carrier they fly, have access to all members' designated business departure lounges. Guests are not permitted.

Which means that the Star web site is not very accurate.
