So far have I found-
LAX-SYD-CNS shortest
LAX-NRT-CNS second shortest
LAX-MEL-CNS longest

Any others that are known, that are somewhat reasonably short

I'm not sure if anyone flies HNL-CNS, but LAX-HNL-CNS would then be one option. also, if someone flies LAX-GUM, then LAX-GUM-CNS would be an option. (GUM-CNS by Continental Micronesia). Also, what about LAX-Auckland-CNS? or LAX-HKG/TPE-CNS?

Also don't rule out Air Pacific, Fiji's national airline. They might fly to Cairns from Nadi, so you could fly LAX-Nadi-Cairns. I haven't checked if so, but they do have a large presence linking Fiji with Australia, Nz, New Caledonia, Tahiti, Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, Japan & US.

USAF, just curious what interest/business do you have in Cairns, Australia? It's not a terrible large or exciting place.

It's well known on this board because its CO's only Australian destination.

I flew LAX-SYD-CNS and the flight to Cairns was a 747 because it was continuing on to Nagoya.
