Hi All,

Things seem to have gone strangely quite on Ozjet I was on their website out of sheer uriosity an noticed that they are commencing a Perth-Derby service on the 27th of Feb.

I was a little surprise it hadn't been mentioned here.

Seems that it is being supported (like everything in WA) by the local mining industry.

Also given that they will have 106 seats I presume it will be all economy.

Even though there is plenty of Charter work within WA does the 737-200 limit them from doing charters to the east coast?

Interesting. I thought Ozjets AOC had been changed to a charter only AOC, so this must only be a charter service and not a scheduled flight

Well it does so 'subject to regulatory approval' and they do say that they offer charter and RPT services.

If the base is PER then yes, severely. Interestingly though the website does state they have just finished a round of recruiting for their Perth AND Brisbane bases so who knows. This could be the start of a new Ozjet, just more sensibly this time around.

Is there such a thing as scheduled charters in Australia, like Xtra Airways or the like, here in the US?
