Hi everyone, i know the story of the crash and stuff.

I am doing a report from school, and need a good web page with lots of info on the Incident and pictures if possible.. if anyone knows of a great source for this Incident please leave a post with the info, thanks so much.

Ahh...the Gimli Glider. The airplane victim of the metric system. There is tons of stuff of it on the internet...just enter gimli glider on yahoo. But I think you may be interested in this like:

This is a news report from CBC in 1983 detailing the accident.

The aircraft flown by Capt. Pearson is still in service with AC today, unfortunatley the reg escapes me at the moment.

Ah! Found it. The aircraft involved was a Boeing 767-233, C-GAUN. This is a picture a few months before the incident:

Thanks, i have the EAA report already, but i would like a better descriptive page with pics of the incident itself, and more info than what that report has..

Don`t forget the book "freefall", which tells the story. There was a mediocre TV movie made as well, I forget the name.

The book was called "Freefall" and was written by William and Marilyn Mona Hoffer, and published in 1989.

The TV movie was called "Falling from the Sky: Flight 174" and starred William Devane as Capt. Pearson, and ex-Charlie's Angel Shelley Hack as a flight attendant. And yes, the movie was terrible, yet, I have it on VHS somewhere in my collection.

There was a very lengthy post about it a while ago. I think it was called "The Gimli Glider" Do a search for it.

PS. It's GIMLI not Gilmi
