Increase In Ground Accidents?

Lately it seems I am reading about a lot of ground accidents on a.net. The ones that pop up in my mind right away are the three recent incidents involving NW at MSP and YYZ. The US tow bar problem at PHL and the Frontier ramper getting run over at DEN. Has there been more accidents lately or is this normal and I have just been noticing it more
