Greetings!  Smile

Have been lurking around here for a long time. Recently joined airliners.net.

Was looking at Air India schedule between Ahmedabad(AMD) and Mumbai(BOM) and astonished to note thrice a week operation with B-757. Further digging around, figured out that it is a BOM-AMD-KWI run. It operates
-> AI861 Mumbai-Ahmedabad-Kuwait 757 Tue Fri Sun
-> AI860 Kuwait-Ahmedabad-Mumbai 757 Mon Tue Fri

1) When did AI get B757? (Did not quite notice it if it was posted before) I know they've leased B767.

2) When did AI start AMD-KWI. Did not see any press release or anything. I know (and saw) they had AMD-DBX last year on A-310. Direct response to KU , AMD-KWI

Thanks,

R B

Its the Flyglobespan B767 that does this run at the moment on saturdays. I don't think the B757 has joined the AI fleet as yet.

Could be. But schedule on AI site clearly shows 757. The BOM-AMD-LHR flight is correctly shown as (Flyglobespan) 767. Also it is not just Saturday. This run is 3 times a week.

Def Not a B757 in AI Fleet.The only B757s I've observed departing BOM are Ethiopean & Blue Dart Freighters.
Although B757 is operated from Ahd by a Finnish carrier.

I saw it today land, as i was waiting for my dealyed GO Air departure to BLR for the airshow around 0830 am, i clicked a photo which unfirtunately has not come out so good because of the light conditions.

Infact wat i mentioned yesterday being a Wet Lease A310 from a Turkish Carrier is actually a Wetlease 757-200 from a Turkish Carrier.

Apologies for the mistake regarding the A310.

If i remember the scheme rightly --yoll know how difficult it is to spot a different aircraft while awaiting departure, the aircraft belogs to Golden International Airline.

AFAIK, this is just a fuel stopover and starting this year this was through Jaipur.
