Air Canada Jazz will launch a second daily flight between Edmonton (YEG) and Los Angeles (LAX) on June 15. This flight will depart YEG at 17:55 and arrive at LAX at 18:25.
This schedule compliments nice transfers from other western Canadian cities (Kelowna, Saskatoon, Yellowknife, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, etc...)

This does not surprise me whatsoever. When HP tried this route, it was always full. And full with very pricey tickets. HP screwed up by running a Mesa CR9...it could have been a success with a 319. Really good to see this from Jazz, I'm sure the added frequency will do well.

I heard that UA was looking at increasing the SFO flight to 2x daily at some point in 07. I have yet been able to confirm anything so at this point it is just hearsay, thus not reliable.

Honestly, I am surprised at both the fact that United hasn't made and entry and that AC hasn't gone mainline.

Interesting! I too am surprised that this route hasn't yet gone mainline. Some other schedule highlights that I've gleaned from the recent summer schedule load is the doubling of service to YZF(two nonstop dailies from both YYC and YEG). ANC will see the E190 from YVR. YYC-JFK goes double daily for the summer with the E190. I never noticed any new routes,more frequency increases than anything else on various domestic routes and a greater use of the E190 aircraft as they continue to arrive from Embraer.
