It was Feb.13th, 1947 and the routing was ESB-IST-ATH with a DC-3.
It is hard to believe that in a matter of 60 years the things TK and civil aviation in general have achieved.
Now TK with a fleet of 104 planes flies to 103 international and 28 domestic destinations. It has carried 17.5 mil pax last year with a revenue of $3 billion.
To celebrate the event there was a scheduled flight from IST to ATH with a leased DC-3 from Germany and to send the 100th plane in TKs fleet, special livery "Bodrum" plane to ATH. I am not sure about the 738 flight but the DC-3 got cancelled, due to weather. Too bad.
Congratulations TK on this special day.
