.....started from your local airport?
Well my local is NCL and I would like to see BRT to Frankfurt , if any chance of slots, CO to Ewr and possibly for a no-frills airline to start ops from NCL such as easyJet or Go etc.

How can your local be NCL if you live in Lockerbie? Surely GLA is only about 90 miniutes away, less than NCL?

Anyway, I'm sure Ezy will start from there - they are now opening up an EDI-AMS so I'm sure NCL will follow.

As for GO, could be they're gonners!!

Hi Scotty

Awa and bile yer heid

My local is Glasgow, even though I live in Aberdeen.

New flights are slow to take off but what I would like to see is:

Aberdeen to:

Dublin with Ryanair
Amsterdam with easyJet
Barcelona with easyJet

And some more competition on the Heathrow route. Air Ecosse were going to use a BAC1-11 at one point!

I might mail Stelios as I have his number

Regards
Gary
Aberdeen

Well scotty I live close to Lockerbie , about 10 miles away, but i put it down as my local cos its only about 1 and a quarter hours in the car whereas Gla is 90 mins. Where did you find out about EZY starting the EDI-AMS service?

Do you know where Gretna is, I live about 4 miles from there so I am closer to NCL than I am to GLA and PIK.

My local airport is Strasbourg. They've already fulfilled one of my wishes with the Transaero route to Moscow.
I hope to see destinations like Berlin (LH/AF) or Athens (OA etc.) in their timetable soon.
It would be great if any low cost carriers such as Ryanair would fly to SXB!

My local airport is San Diego. A few new routes, like SAN-LGW nonstop and SAN-HNL will be started in the coming months, which are among I think the most needed routes for San Diego. Others I would like to see in the next few years (decades) are:

SAN-NRT (Either ANA, JAL, UA, AA, NW, or a combination)
SAN-MIA (American)
SAN-SAT (Southwest)
SAN-YVR (Air Canada)
SAN-FRA (Lufthansa)
SAN-YUL (Air Canada)
SAN-BOS w/another airline besides AA (maybe Delta?)
SAN-MCO (Delta?)
SAN-HKG/SIN (maybe 1 stop from NRT, UA, CX?)
SAN-SEA w/another airline besides Alaska
SAN-SYD (Qantas)
SAN-CDG (Air France)

At least the first five are in descending order of routes needed the most.

I think DL (or maybe VJ?) should start cutting into AA's operation at MIA.

This would include flights to:
Antigua
St. Croix
Barbados
Grenada
Trinidad
Kinston, Jamaica
Providenciales
St. Lucia
Quito
Guayaquil (sp.?)
La Paz
Santo Domingo
Puerto Plata
Punta Cana
Buenos Aires
Port-au-Prince

i think overall, flight price to these destinations as opposed to other destinations are overpriced (it is much cheaper to fly to Europe than many of these destinations from most US gateways)

I guess DL is trying to get into some of this market via JM/MBJ and LAPA, but they should get more direct flights out of ATL.

POS (Port of Spain) needs new services to the US. BWIA and AA have a stranglehold which has kept fares very high. Air Caribbean, a local carrier, tried to do MIA this year but their bold venture cost them their life (ie bankruptcy). A new strong carrier such as Delta or maybe a return of United would do well; UA is now codesharing with BW so a return of their planes to POS is unlikely, although with their cooperation BW will enter new markets (ATL next year, possibly ORD, IAH, BOS).

Regionally, a jet service to SJU would do well; at present all we have is a daily AE ATR 72. At least one of my pet wishes, a nonstop or 1-stop to KIN in Jamaica, is now reality with BW (alas, it was launched when Air Jamaica started flights here and with it BW overwhelmed JM, forcing them out shortly thereafter).

In the final analysis, a bit more variety and competition would be good although BW is very hard to beat here (ask JM).

Trintocan.

Mine is LAX, or BUR. I would like to see TW get some better flight times from LAX-JFK. I mean 7.20a on a 752 is a little early and 9.40a gets you into JFK a little late for settling in and then doing things that evening in Manhattan. I wish TW flew at 8.00a to JFK. Thats why lately I've taken AA lately but I'd prefer TW.

From BUR I wish some one would operate a transcon. I wish TW would come back. Here is what would be nice for BUR...
BUR-JFK: AA, UA or DL/TW if they came back
BUR-ORD: AA or UA
Also IAD, BOS, MIA and other would be nice so LAX can be avioded!

Better frequencies on PDX-BUR would be nice, I mean listen to this 7.40a, 4.40p and 7.50p! That is crazy I mean, if you want to fly non-stop there is no way to divide the day up between Portland and LA. All these airlines think they can get away with poor frequencies!

Thank you very much -a very interesting topic. My local airport is DIA, and I would like to see more international routes in general and more airlines - UAL owns like 75% of airport, and I'd like that to change. The route I would love to see is DEN-SVO by Aeroflot (with aircraft like IL-96-300 or IL-96M, which will be delivered next year) or by Delta with 777. And I'd like more flights to Russia in General.

My local arpt. is YYZ. I am looking forward to any route flying over the north pole. We can see that there is a very high vol. of traffic flying between Southeast Asia and N. America, both west and east coast. I am looking foward to flights operated by 744, A340E, A340-8000, 772ER, 772X and 773X from SIN/HKG/TPE to LAX/YYZ/JFK via N. Pole. Today, most of these flights are going around the N. Pole, flying the great circle route.

To YP6370: your local airport is in France, even you are german, and its the same with me: these are the signs of the time.

Prost!

From ABQ (Albuquerque International Sunport) i would like to see:

ABQ-JFK with JetBlue. Continental's Saturday ABQ-EWR flight is going well and is possibly going to be an everyday thing, so JetBlue could come in to compete.

ABQ-SLC with JetBlue. To compete with Comair and Southwest.

ABQ-SEA with Alaska Airlines. Southwest only operates one non-stop in the afternoon.

ABQ-LAX on American. Compete with Southwest who is the only airline with non stop ABQ-LAX service. America West and Delta used to fly this route in the past.

ABQ-LAS on National. I would just love to see those planes here in ABQ

ABQ-MCI or MKE on Midwest Express. Southwest has the only non-stop to MCI and there are a lot of people from the Wisconsin area that live in NM that would love to have a non-stop to MKE to see family.

ABQ-IAD on United. To compete with Southwest's new non-stop to BWI.

To ATA757: Thanks for mentioning a ABQ-IND flight, i would love to see it too, but which airline?

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

My local airport is SAT, and I'd like to see WN take more of a presence here (already dominant, though) with nonstops like:
SAT-PDX
SAT-LAX
SAT-MDW
SAT-ISP (not nonstop, but at least direct)
SAT-LAX (more than the 1x day n/s flight we have)
SAT-MSY
SAT-OAK
SAT-SFO

I also would like to see UA improve service SAT-ORD and SAT-DEN to more than 2x/day, and add SAT-IAD and SAT-SFO. UA should get competitive with AA especially SAT-ORD, where UA does it twice and AA does it five times.

AA should give SAT some parity to AUS and at least start SAT-LAX and/or SAT-SJC.

DL needs another SAT-SLC flight, but we know they're not serious about the west coast anyway. They also need SAT-LAX and definitely more SAT-CVG. I would have said SAT-PDX, but they made the dreadful mistake of leaving.

NW needs more nonstops SAT-MSP, and nonstop service in general SAT-DTW.

US needs service SAT-PHL and/or SAT-CLT.

It would be great to have F9 SAT-DEN, but that won't happen.

One can dream, can't they?

Cool ideas:

Delta - SLC - MKE -- it's about time there was another west coast option for MKE!

MidEx - MKE-ABQ-TUC (at least seasonally, this would be great!) And of course MKE-PDX and MKE-SEA This would work great with a codeshare with Alaska!

And finally,

MKE-RDU on Midway with MidEx Codeshare - check out the routemaps, it would be a great boon to both airlines!

I would take the chance to fly a lot of the routes I put up, like SAN-NRT, SAN-CDG, and SAN-YVR. Many of the routes posted have been also requested by prominent businesses in the San Diego region, like SAN-Florida, SAN-NRT again, as well as routes to Continental Europe. Most of the others I put down were my thoughts on projected growth in travel in the region and new markets that could/should be introduced within the next few decades.

So there.
