A question for those in the know: Why was there a USAF 757 on the ground at RDU on Friday? It was parked on the west side of the field just south of the FedEx area. As I saw it while taxing out in a CRJ, I could not get any reg numbers nor see any insignias. I'm just curious as to why it was there.

THe USAF 757 you saw was a C-32, which is a VIP aircraft. There are either two or four (I can't remember) of them, and they are used for transporting cabinet-level and up government officials. Also, I believe the President uses them when he goes to places with runways not capable of handling a VC-25. I don't know specifically why it was there, did anyone important come to RDU for an event?
