4 New 744Fs For Atlas

This company seems to make a hell lot of money: Atlas Air ordered four additional 747-400 Freighters last week to be delivered until 2002.

In other news from last week Thai has got the approval to order new 747-400s (up to 5) but still has to place the order officially.

It's called cash flow. You don't have to have the cash equivalent to acquire aircraft. Many companies lease aircraft, some buy. Even the terms of the buy can be very different between companies dependent upon the terms you receive. If Atlas has a need for the aircraft and can put them to work right away, the cash flow will be positive enough to pay acquisition costs and operating costs.
