On January 3, 2007 Boeing is reporting 4 firm 772LR (pax, not freighter) orders under "unidentified".
DL was the first to jump to mind... but 1) their intent to order that aircraft is no secret and 2) their initial order would be a conversion for two, not four, unless something's changed.
Granted, if it's not DL, anyone have the scoop on who it is?

Rumours of a SYD based 772LR start-up have been on this forum for a few days now. That would be one possibility, as would some of the Chinese carriers. Other than that, I'd be looking to the ME.

I would've called that the 2nd worst-kept secret in aviation orders, after DL's.
Also, on the Orders Forum, they're talking about Royal Brunei.... anyone know some'n about this?!

Perhaps they are for Virgin Blue ? I know the recent reports said that they would order -300/ER but perhaps they will get -200/LR as well and beat QF flying nonstop to London ?
Other possibilities would be QR and VN.
