Capital Ethiopia, one of two English-language "business" papers in Addis, reports that Ethiopian posted half a billion birr profit (~ US$56.32 Million) in the first half of its fiscal year. This is recorded as a 39% increase in profits when compared to the same period last year, with a 21% increase in passengers. I hope I read it right.
Also interesting is what the paper reiterates, a "long awaited" cooperation to be signed between Ethiopian and Lufthansa, including code sharing. Two or three weeks ago, the same paper had given a 1-week time line for such signing, while another paper, Addis Fortune, has not picked up the story.

Quoting CraigW (Reply 1): I hope that will use some of the profit to upgrade the older B767 and all of the B757 cabin interiors as they are starting to look tired.
They'll be operating brand spanking new 787s soon enough!!!!!
Anyone knows what ET's current fleet is??
Do they fly to London, UK?

Quoting AF022 (Reply 3): From Amadeus it says they will have 6 frequencies from Heathrow in the summer.
This is true, There will be service every day except Tuesday. All flight except Thursday will operate with B757-200 but Thursday will be 767-300ER which will be a nice change for the LHR service! All flights currently operate non-stop LHR/ADD stopping inbound via FCO but the weekends operate ADD/LHR direct, however for Summer 2007 3 of the LHR/ADD flights will route back via FCO including the 763 service

Or it could have been ET-AJX as it routed through IAD from SEA after its conversion to palleted freighter then continued on through BRU to ADD
Thought he/she would have noted its freighter'ness and mentioned it

It was definitely not a freighter. It was parked right next to SAA's A340-600 and was at the same location when i returned a week later. Not sure if it moved at all.
