Rolls Royce flew in a Trent 1000 engine to BNA yesterday. It came in on an Antonov 124 and was bound for the airforce base down the road in Tullahoma, Tennessee. The base has a one of a kind wind tunnel that Rolls Royce wants to utilize for approx. one month. I have pictures on my personal site of the whole event out on the cargo ramp. But being that it's an outside website, I don't think I can post a link. Nonetheless, it was really cool and really, really big! If a mod sees this and says that a link is fine to post, then I will post it no doubt. But just to be sure, it was a confirmed Trent 1000 that was on the plane.

Great pictures! Too bad they couldn't take off the blue covering for you! Do you happen to know if those yellow tracks custom built just for unloading this engine? Thanks!

Nice shots... I like the shot with the 124 behind the FX planes... Bet it makes them a bit jealous seeing that thing on their ramp  Smile

That was my question also!

Lexy - Thanks! Nice Pix...

I just love the way the AN124 looks. What a beautiful plane...

Well, the best may be yet to come as far as pictures are concerned here. I'll expound on that later on. The racks were not a custom build for the engine. They were just extensions that were (and have been) used on the plane. The mount that the engine sets in is custom to the aircraft (AN-124) design though.
