I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything new about any airlines moving in MCO. I know a while back it was rumored the Jetblue was going to move to the Delta terminal and Southwest would take our gates? There are alot of gates open at MCO between Deltas and the gates that GOAA owns.....

Apparently B6 has pulled back from there plans, but negotiations are on going for another carrier to to move over and occupy the 90's wing before Summer 07.
Several carriers are asking for additional gates but are unwilling to sign for a short term (1 year) lease.

MCO is about to undertake some major changes in the way it conducts its leases with airlines tenants.

ALL leases will have to be re-negotiated before Sep08.

That is one nice terminal. I can't imagine it needing much renovation at all.

Is MCO going to common use gates like LAS?

Not really....

Airside 4 was built and designed specifically for Delta. As Delta reduced their operations and abondonded gates, some have fallen into disrepair. The 90's wing has not been full utilized since the end of Delta Express. In 2005 Song used several gates for a short period of time. Today, one Gate is used by Frontier, but I unserstand that they may be moving soon. Walking thru the wing, you can still see reminants of Delta everywhere. The Authority is attempting "nutralize" this.

Currently at MCO some airlines have "Exclusive Use" Leases or "Long Term" Leases (25-30 Years). All of there are due to expire in 2008 when the Airport Authority takes over control of all Gates. Some of the Gates will revert to CUTE or Common Use gates. Some will become "Preferential Use" Gates.

The final plan on Gate use and leasing terns is still being explored by the Authority.

How many gates does FL currenty use? With DL pulling back, I'd imagine FL adding more flights.

Listen Betty, don't start up with your 'White Zone' s*** again.

During the day there are only a few flight that operate into the 80's wing. AeroMexico has one or two flights.
Delta has two or three (MEX and overflow from 70's wing). Most other flight that require FIS during the day are at Airside 1 (20's wing)

But in the evening (3pm-9pm) The 80's wing is quite busy.

3-4 Virgins, 1- BA, 1 - Condor, 2-AeroMexico

Currently FL has 6 Gates, and have requested additional. Problem is that ALL the Gates in Airside 2 are occupied by carriers that are also requesting additional Gates. There are available Gates at other Airside terminals, so.....someone will have to move. It is a question of Who and When.
