Sadly it is a rare occurence these days, but STL has two 777's on their way in from Gatwick and Frankfurt that have been diverted from DFW due to high--60mph+ winds.. You may never see two on the ground again in STL.

Gatwick is on it's way in now almost over Columbia , Frankfurt has just made a turn over Springfield and is headed back to STL

Seen two on the ground on more than one occasion. Just a matter of being there at the right time. There have been many a day when STL has had multiple wide-rides doing the diversion dance. WX is garbage all over the midwest due to this bowling ball, tightly wrapped low wreaking havok.

I picked the wrong day to skip A.net in the morning.

Anyone know where they're parked (if they're still here)? I'd gladly drive over, but it's hard to get good views of any part of the field unless you know where exactly you're trying to look.

How soon? I need someone to check out the new spotting areas at STL that I've recently discovered.

If anyone finds out exactly when they're leaving, I would love it if they could send my cell a text! (618 219 5566) I wanna check out my recently discovered spotting areas (assuming they're departing to the West today?)

I would imagine within the next two weeks, 4 weeks TOPS, It depends on my starting date with Southwest Airlines at STL Airport, so Once I am settled in ill give you a contact so we can meet up and hang and spot together on my days off.

Good luck catching the 777 hope you get some, shots that is  Wink

Will they let people off the plane since its an international airport? Does customs have the personel to do so?

AA Flight 37 has just been diverted from Zurich 767-300

It looks like they are letting them off. AA shows luggage can be claimed at M2 for flight 51 LGW.

I think that they are letting them off. Looks like both flights are not scheduled to leave until tomorrow morning. The can call customs inspectors in, they are equipped to clear passengers. Just 2 777s at the same time will be a challenge. It was a long enough process to clear customs off of a TW 762 when arriving from CDG or LGW. I would expect some very upset people. Still this is an opportunity for AA to show that they can deal with these significant disruptions and meet the proposed "Customer Bill of Rights" type expectations. This is a test.

Well, I ended up turning around due to a seemingly major wreck on 270, but if anyone knows what time these diversions are scheduled to depart tomorrow, I'll definitely be out for that..

Congrats on getting the job!!

I haven't been on WN in so long, but on my upcoming trips to Miami, all the fares I want are taken by Spring Break'ers so WN ends up being $200 more than the legacies...

I guess there will be a campout in the terminal tonight, for the people not willing to pay for hotels?

Won't this be the 4th time in less than a year that STL has had a major sleepover?

Thanks, for legal reasons WN cannot claim me yet but they assured me the job will be offered.

Makes sense to me! Most are quick to grab the low fares, i assume your riding AA or did you mention DL once?

Does wind count as weather not controlled by AA?

Man, seriously I always miss all the action here Sad

Both are $108 roundtrip to MIA(plus $50 in taxes, ofcourse!), so I could have taken the non-stops on AA, but I'm heading through ATL on DL, for the 763's instead.  Wink

Hey, I was on a road trip for a broke crj-700 and flew back in from DEN. Looks like AA had a few 737s in DEN diverted, and when I landed in STL the 777s were resting on the Delta Pad.
