When you think of casino junkets to Tunica, MS, what's the first airline that pops into your mind? That's right, kids: Sky King.

Now as far as I know Sky King could very well be a respected charter carrier with an admirable safety record, but man, if you see this aircraft (former UA) on the ground, it leaves a lot to be desired. Although if you judge a book by its cover, US might as well ground their entire 733 fleet. Ugh!

Here are some recent photos of this od girl....unfortunately I didn't get a shot of the numerous tail strike markings underneath....

They're operating N330DL as well, one of the old DL Express birds. Good to see some old JT8D's patrolling the skies!!

Good to see some old 732's roaming the sky. I hope they survive the charter market. Boy she looks good.

Saw that plane at MCO not too long ago. It was parked at the terminal using gate normally used by Aeromexico.

What is SkyKing using most of their aircraft for now? They used to operate a lot more sports charters (mainly NHL teams) than they do now. I lot of their sports team charters seem to be switched to Pace Airlines and Swift Air.

Never heard of them before. What else is going on at Tunica these days? Does Pan Am show up with charters anymore?

Reminds me of the Ryan charters to ACY that come thru ROC now and then. Some of those 732's are ancient.

Sky King will be flying the Myrtle Beach Direct Air flights between MYR and Niagara Falls, Pittsburgh, and Newark.

The Myrtle Beach Direct Air internet site shows a new paint job. I wonder if that is just marketing on the web site or if Sky King will really paint their 737-200's like that for Myrtle Beach Direct Air.
