Hi all,

Please help me to ID this A330, I shot it over Oporto, Portugal, heading out to the Atlantic Ocean, last sunday 25/02 at around 1500h.

It has something written down on its' belly or some kind of marking... I looked over the DB but could not find anything.

Big version: Width: 800 Height: 507 File size: 179kb
A330 Over OPO 25 Fev 2007

Thanks in advance,
Alex

Entirely based on anything other then the fact I see a bit of what looks like red: LTU.

Whoever can identify this plane correctly gets my respects! It's so hard to double, I'm starting to see cross-eyed after staring at the picture.   Is it me or do I see hints of blue and red on the tail? That makes me think that it could be a Malaysia Airlines plane.

LTU has a red tail, so it's not them. I'd say Eva or Livingston, too.

I'd say Eva

I don't think so...EVA Air's bellies are green, the belly looks more grey to me.

EDIT... I stand corrected. The engines in the original picture are Rolls Royce, matching Livingstone. And the writing towards the tail on the bottom of the fuselage, etc etc blah blah I hang my head in shame  Sad

Can you say 'Beer Can' without sounding like a Jamaican saying 'Bacon'?

Right on, and so do the engines. EVA's engines are white. It ain't EVA.

Yup, that's it, Ari, Thanks!

EVA would be quite out of it's way to be over Portugal, and with that shot you solved the mistery.  Smile

Take a close look at the nose of the aircraft (download the picture to your computer and zoom in), doesn't it look like it is painted in som red-ish color...maybe orange? That would make it a Livingston jet. And Livingston jets also have stuff written on the bellies, which you can see if you look at the aft part of the fuselage...just like the picture below.

Airliners don't interest me very much. Polish jet-powered biplane cropdusters, Bonanzas with gun pods, fighter skiplanes, single-engine Cessnas with full-span leading-edge flaps, and things of that sort interest me.  Smile
