DALLAS, Nov 14, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/-- Air France will expand its presence in the United States when it begins non-stop service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Air France's hub at Charles de Gaulle Airport next May 7.

"Unlike other non-stop service to Paris from DFW, customers will have easy one-stop connections to more than 85 cities throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa," said Bruno Matheu, executive vice president- Air France network. "Metroplex area business travelers will be able to make easy connections to many cities throughout the world that were previously difficult for them to reach."

Air France flight 323 will leave Dallas/Fort Worth at 7:15 p.m. and arrive Paris at 11:30 a.m. the following day. Flight 320 will leave Paris at 1:40 p.m. and arrive Dallas/Fort Worth at 5:10 p.m. Air France will operate 252-seat Airbus A340 aircraft on the new route, with six seats in first class, 42 in business class, and 204 in economy class.

"The United States is Air France's most important non-French market," said Christopher Korenke, vice president and general manager USA for Air France. "DFW will be part of this growing market when it becomes our 13th gateway to Europe."

Air France will bring its Frequence Plus frequent flier program to Dallas/Fort Worth customers. Through its SkyTeam alliance, members can not only earn and redeem miles on Air France but also on Delta Air Lines, AeroMexico, Korean Airlines, and Czech Airlines.

"This new service by Air France is a reflection of the robust international business climate of the DFW Metroplex," said Joe Lopano, DFW's executive vice president - marketing. "Air France is a première brand in the airline category and has been a targeted airline for DFW over the past three years. We are pleased with their decision to choose DFW as theur next U.S. gateway."

Dallas/Fort Worth will be the second Texas airport served by Air France. Currently, Air France flies daily between Houston's George Bush International Airport and Paris.

"We at the French-American Chamber of Commerce are very excited about Air France's direct service to Paris from Dallas/Fort Worth," said Keith Harvey, president of the Dallas chapter of the French-American Chamber. "The already strong business and personal ties between Dallas/Fort Worth and France will be greatly strengthened by this daily service. Our chamber is so dynamic because there are many French companies doing business here and many North Texas companies doing business in France. We applaud Air France's decision."

Air France is a global airline with service to more than 238 cities in 88 countries. The airline flies from 12 gateways in the United States and provides service from an additional 89 cities through its code-share agreements with Continental Airlines and Delta Air Lines.

AF does Dallas-that just didn't sound right   I cannot wait, I wonder if AF will eventually go to a 747 to that route, I think AA will eventually put a 777 on that route aswell since both of their 2 daily flights to CDG have high load factors.

Give me a break, I created this username when I was a kid...

So AF will begin May 7, 2001, who's next......??

AF should be at DELTA Terminal E International Gates.

We need more international carriers at DFW to gain more passengers and businesses. !!!!!!!!!!!
