AR Is Back On EZE-MIA-JFK?

According to flytecomm.com, AR is operating EZE-MIA-JFK, and then reading the AR Workers union page, I found that the nonstop route EZE-JFK was doing good with Y pax, but bad with C pax.
Any more info?

This is very surprising, because I've often tried to book business class on that flight and found no seats available!

No, this is only temporary until one of the A340s goes out of unexpected tech. This will probably go on for one or two weeks.

Ahh, the thrills of having a limited widebody fleet.  Yeah sure

Fortunately, March will be delivery date for the first ex-AI A310, June for the second, while the first A340-300 will arrive in May.

To answer your question, yes AR is back flying to JFK. Flights started in November I believe and where on the 747-200 for a period of time and then reverted back to the A340-200 when the schedule changed.

I was lucky enough to catch the 747-200 at JFK:

By the way: any chance to see AR in FRA again anytime soon?

Seems like LH is doing good money on their daily run to EZE (via GRU though) with 747s...

Which of the A340s is this? Would you mind elaborating?

I've seen -ZPJ and -ZRA at EZE this week. I've been told that -ZPX is flying. So, that would leave Zippo (LV-ZPO) to be the one in MX.

This seems doubtful. According to the timetables posted on Amadeus, AR no longer flies to LGW and CDG. At this time, MAD, BCN, and FCO are the only European cities that AR flies to with its own aircraft.

Do you know which routes these aircrafts are going to fly with AR?

Is this planned maintenance/check? -- whatever the equivalent to Boeing's C-checks are? I vaguely recall that all 4 ships were to be going through scheduled checks towards the end of 2006. Or is this some unexepected event?

As LVZXV mentioned last year, the A340s will not go through D-Checks for a couple of years, I do not know of the equivalent C-checks. Both current A310s will enter checks as soon as the 2 new arrive.

Hola Gastón.
I'm afraid I didn't understand your answer, or maybe I didn't make myself clear. I think you explained where those birds are coming from, but what I wanted to know is where will AR fly with them. Maybe open new destinations? Perhaps they plan to increase the number of flights to current destinations?
From what you said in your last post, the new A310s will replace the current A310s while they undergo checks, so we shouldn't expect any news in the short term, but what about the A340-300? Europe? More flights to New Zealand-Australia? USA?

I do not have any idea if AR have plans for new routes , but i think that EZE-USA routes are under serve.
With no codeshare agreements , LAX is not a good option to resume it.
FCO or BCN could increase frequencies with a new 343 .

Is this the A343 that' owned by VS? I know VS wetleases one A340 to BWIA and that lease is done and it was supposed to be returned this year. Saludos desde JFK

Oops! I am sorry. I thought you were in a position to shed light over the reasons for the unexpected (non-scheduled?) maintenance. Did not mean to be pushy ..... Apologies.

Quoting MD11junkie (Reply 10):
D-Checks

That's what I meant. D-checks, not C-checks. Thank you.
