Hey everybody, now this is a very random topic, i know, but i must admit i occasionally check out airlinemeals.net, especially before trips, to see what i can expect in terms of catering. I did so at the beggining of last month, and then again today, actually, and noticed that the website hasnt been updated for a month now. It was never a daily up to date website, i know that, but it was allways refreshed within the course of 2 weeks, max... Its run by one guy, who lives in the netherlands, and who ive actually briefly spoken to on his newly created Msn adress via messenger (this was in the middle of january)... So now im wondering if anyone else noticed this, and if this is not somewhat strange...

Just a (random/weird) thought

Its a shame, because I loke to take a look into that site before taking a flight in a new airline. It has nice info, a bit outdated in some cases, but very helpful anyway.

Next flights: AV BOG-ADZ-BOG, AV-UA BOG-IAD-ORD-IAD-BOG, BOG-FLL-BOG, LA BOG-MIA-BOG J

It mentioned on the site a while ago that he hadn't been feeling to good/was ill so maybe uploading photos of airline meals isn't his top priority at the moment

The guy started it as a joke,

it became huge succes

and it increasingly costed him time and money

at one point (2003 see posts below) he considered stopping, because he could not find the time

I think if someone would offer assistance as a screener / page editor

to re-energize this great site somehow he would welcome it.

It's a nice site but I stopped looking at it because I know what I'll get from U.S airlines. I don't think ANA or Emirates food is much of use for me.

Using this useful thread: Where can I find photos of Kidsmeals of Air France - I want to check their presentation to see if I order it for my kid or leave him with standard adult meal service (which is good)?

I wish there was a picture of that Deep Throat chicken that was served to us on a MIA-BWI flight on Eastern Airlines August 21, 1968. It was of course chicken and when you cut it, thick white cream oozed out. Hence the moniker
Deep Throat Chicken!

This is as close as I could find when I Googled Cream Filled Chicken. But the creation? looked like this.

I like using it an example to show anyone what crappy in-cabin services we have these days compared to our European and Asian friends.

Have a gander at an hour long flight on an LH Avro, with a FULL breakfast. Try that on a NW, US, UA, AA, DL, CO any flight.

Have a gander at the C, J or F cabin on CX, QF, LH, BA and then go LAUGH, that's right LAUGH at all of the US flagged carriers.

Our friends across both ponds have the market cornered on service in the air.

All we have in the US are school buses with wings.

Agree 100 % too bad U.S. Airline CEO' s give a damn about service. Airllinemeals.net is a great site to see the quality of international carriers and wish for the good old days of good meals to com back to the U.S. too bad the site hasnt been updated in a month

I think CO and Alaska are the only airlines that actually give out traditional meals now even for short flights.

I don't know about Alaska, but Co does not serve "traditional meals" on domestic flights. You may get a hot sandwich and some carrots and that's it... It is still better though than most other US airlines. On the other hand, you gain some weight when you fly with EK.

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

Airlinemeals.net is one of my favorites and lately I've been going on to see if it has been updated as last year they had been pretty regular about doing it.
They do a great job. I had been worried about Marco as he seem to disappear without any notice as he and his site partner are out traveling.

btw.. on the 13th, I'm flying on LH from IAD to FRA the last time i flew LH from JFK to FRA was last march... and let me explain how excellent the in-flight service was, and mind you, i was in Economy.. ... As the pax were boarding. they were passing out Water and some light snacks as we were waiting to leave.. and then once airborne they served another snack about 15 or 20 minutes after take off
then about an hour or hour anda half later.. they they proceeded to start to pass out hot towels.. and the F/A asked if i wanted a meat or veggie entre and i said meat.. and then she went back to the galley and then cam back with a tray that actually had a plate with those top thngs u take off n then she sat the tray down in front of me and then asked if i wanted red or white wine, i chose red.. and then she took off the cover.. and boy was i amazed. i ended up staring at a very succulent piece of 10 oz. New York Strip Steak, a big salad, dinner roll, butter, veggies, and then in a dish next to the plate was a big piece of German Chocolate cake! I was like... dang am i in F or C? because the food was excellent. Then during the Inflight Entertainment, they were passing out mini cups of Ben & Jerrys Ice Cream. they had an assortment of flavors. I chose Strawberry and they also gave me a granola bar and a choice of drinks. Then about 1 hour before landing at Frankfurt, Germany, they served a mixed German/American style breakfast which was equally tasty. I cant wait to fly on LH again next week. Most Recently i flew on KE from ORD-ICN-ORD on dec 26th and again on jan. 11.. that was by far the best airline service i have ever experienced!

Dear Ajo, thank you very much the information!

a question, how many photos are on currently on back-log ??? as stated some users it looks like there are still photos not online that were send nearly 1 year ago.....

Wouldn't it be fare at least post a list on your side announcing what pictures are still in back-log ....??

And by the way if any help is needed just pm me.

regards
Avianca
