Seeing as how in some markets, it seems XE has already put in place signage and had advertised some, I am wondering how many places there has been nothing?
Here in BOI, except for the initial annoucement, there has been zilch. And for a place where most people have heard about zero of Expressjet, and are usually leery of trying someone new, and for a route/routes that may not seem to highly traveled at the beginning, and finally for service beginning in a month, I find this a bit odd.
This almost is coming out like America West's last attempt at BOI-LAS nonstops. No promotion and support.

I think you will see more of a marketing push soon. The likely strategy is to hit the focus cities first and then hit the outstations.
I think they are also trying to get the online ticketing going, which is probably more important than outstation advertising. Orbitz is up and running now and I think Travelocity and Expedia are soon to come.

Nothing that I have seen here in Fresno yet but they only finalized their gate and ticket counter space this week at FAT.
Also don't forget we don't see first flights here until April 30, so I expect more of a marketing move in Fresno starting about the first or second week of April.
First BOI flight is April 2 so now that they have moved into a 30 day countdown you might start seeing something.

There's been an XJet billboard up along the main road (Ben White) leading from the airport towards downtown here in AUS ever since the announcement, but other than that, I have not seen much.

Quoting ERJ170 (Reply 5): which are the focus cities?
e.g. ONT, SAN, AUS...cities with more than just two destinations.

They have advertised some in the newspaper here at MSY, and they have a billboard on the airport access road (the main drag into the airport). And the newspaper has published several short articles about the new service in recent weeks. First flight isn't until May 14, so I expect to see more. They have six nonstop destinations (2x each), so I imagine it'll be worth their while to do more than they have done, as the startup date gets closer.
I think most frequent flyers here are aware that they are coming, but I don't think the general public is. Of course, the general public, in my estimation, generally goes through a travel agent or punches their itinerary into Orbitz (or the like), so it's probably more important that XJet focus on getting into all the online search engines than on advertising if it wants to get through to that crowd.

Here in Tucson they have had coverage in the local newspapers but I have observed no other publicity. As I mentioned before they have counter space reserved.

In the BOI market , they are hitting with email advertising very very heavily,
with XCoupons, and even some complimentary flights. Sometimes
the best marketing is not public. TARGET- seems to be
the BOI- HiTech market.

Airlines in general don't advertise much, with the exception of Southwest. Most airlines you'd never know they existed unless you drove by the airport.
