Hi!

I've just been trying to schedule a trip to Atlanta sometime in the next couple of months and have discovered to my horror that Delta are dropping the third daily flight to ATL (flights 10 & 19). This means there's now afternoon flight LGW-ATL and no late night flight ATL-LGW, which was the most convienient for me! Never mind!!! Is it likely to be a seasonal thing?

The other thing I noticed was that as of March, there will be two daily flights LGW-CVG, both 767-300ER's. This suprised me as DL have recently swapped the CVG-LGW route from a 777 to a 763. Are there the loads to support 2 daily flights?

Also - are they still planning to introduce a BOS flight sometime next year?

I'd value opinons or thoughts on these changes of schedule!

cheers, Phil.

Yes, DL does drop from 3 to 2 flights during the winter on the ATL-LGW route. However, the third flight will resume for the summer.

I noticed that the 2 flights daily from CVG to LGW and it is strange. Also, in May they drop back down to one flight...I'm presuming that plane is shifted back to ATL...but I'm not sure.

BOS-LGW begins in June 2001.

If DELTA is retiring their DFW-HNL flight, would you think Delta will or will not make a new flight from DFW-LGW....???

That's what I'm concerning about....

Hi Baec777XX

I have to say that it would suprise me greatly if DL were to start a DFW-LGW flight! To the best of my knowledge they don't have any international flights from DFW, so proabaly are unlikely to start.

With them operating ATL, CVG and soon to be BOS, I don't think there really is the demand for it - espcially with AA flying it twice daily from LGW already (777 & MD-11). Do they also fly DFW-LHR???

Any other options out there?

cheers, Phil.

Delta uses the 777 on the CVG-LFW route during the summer when passenger loads are high, then drops to the 767-300ER during the winter when the passenger loads drop. So you can look for the 777 to be back in CVG next summer.

Delta operates flights to Mexico from DFW. But no European flights.

Actually AAL does not have LHR service operation from DFW as well, but it has a stop or connection at Boston like you said about Delta.

I'm concerning here is why does DFW not have LHR service on either American Airlines, Delta Airlines, or British Airways direct non-stop... any details..??

Baec777XX-
I though Delta used to operate to FRA,LGW and ORY(or was it CDG?) from DFW, it's a shame why they stopped it. I think another DFW-LGW flight would work, AA and BA have high loads on that route and 2 out of 3 flights are 777's and the other is an MD-11. I think Delta would do well on it, I don't think it will happen though since Delta seems to be downsizing it's DFW hub.

Delta used to fly DFW-FRA-DFW prior to Ron Allen's
7.5 program which almost bankrupted Delta.

Flight 26 DFW-FRA
Flight 25 FRA-DFW

Operated by an L1011.

I would love to see Delta bring back a DFW-FRA or some other International Flight.

Technically, Delta does not operate any international services out of DFW. The flights to Mexico are operated by Comair and ASA.

Baec777XX:

Presumably (although I'm not positive) there are no direct LHR-DFW flights because of BermudaII. Maybe someone with more knowledge of it (I only know the bare bones) could confirm this.

Blink182:

I agree with you about downsizing DFW. It seems to me that DL are going to concentrate all east coast international traffic through ATL, CVG and JFK and not have any other international hubs. Shame though!

cheers, Phil.

Hello,

Blink182: could you please back up your information for the former Delta DFW-ORY (not CDG anyway, as the airline only moved in 1997 from ORY to CDG), and DFW-ORY?

The book "Delta, and airline and its aircraft" doesn't mention these routes (although they mention DFW-FRA)

Thank you,

Best regards,
Alain Mengus
