For the PIT diehards, there is a Kalitta 747 at the FBO ramp. Most likely a JFK diversion.

Remember the days when BA used to fly scheduled flights into PIT? PIT is a ghost town of its former self.

I was wondering what I saw when I was driving home today! I thought it was Air-India! Thanks for the heads-up! Couldn't stop by the FBO Av to check it out.

I sure do, those were the days. Daily one-stop 747 service to LHR, from that old dump of a terminal! Launched in 1985 with a Concorde flight.

At least a couple times. The first was to inaugurate daily BA 747/L-1011 service.

Kalitta is Kalitta Charters. I could care less about a diversion. Being a charter, they frequent airports that don't see 747 scheduled service.

We don't get them at AUS either. They are a charter service.

Man that sucks. We don't get too many planes like that around here anymore. Would've been cool to see it. Last time I saw a 747 was during last years blizzard on the east coast. We had a Emirates Cargo plane get diverted here from somewhere. I had a pic on my old cell phone. It might be on my comp somewhere.

Note the history of the flight on the bottom right of the linked page. Under 'Duration', it says "Diverted".

Why make such a big deal of this anyway?
