Is EK planning anymore flights to the US via Europe? One through the UK or CDG would be nice if they can get it. I understand the JFK-HAM-JFK flight is not doing too well.

Since they are down grading the JFK-HAM-JFK route from a 773 to a A345, I guess it's not that great.

Or the premium demand is higher than expected, and they chose to leave behind low-yield pax.

Exceptions confirm the rule.

I read in another forum that its getting better day by day on that route, however in HAM was before DL manytimes and always the revenue wasn't good enough even with high loads. Guess EK have the same problem at least for the JFK-HAM leg. The other one further down to DXB is probaly very good and they need extra premium seats. Personally I know already some two friends of me travelling to DXB and further to HKG in First and they reporting its quite full always and much more cheaper than on LH.

On the other thread on the forum about this route being downgraded from 773ER to A345, 2 or 3 different people said they'd flown the HAM-JFK leg of the flight, and there had only 25-40 people on it.

The route just isn't doing well. It is also competing with CO's EWR-HAM flight, which offers connectivity stateside.
