Good news for Mexicana, another US city and international destination to its list!!!

I hope the new TSA screening system is up by then. We're past capacity now as it is.

Phoenix was the next logical move for Mexicana. I can't think of another US city that MX should have considered instead of PHX.

Congrats.

Hope it stays and makes a big business out of it. Maybe a good deal with USAir will help a lot.

I still don't understand why US/HP operate the second daily PHX-MEX as a seasonal flight (July, August and December-January). They claimed yields were not as good with the second flight (even when they have a hub to feed the flights). And now we have MX and AM flying non-stop PHX-MEX. Would this be a retaliation of MX for AM's new SAT and AUS service... Lets hope this does not end like BWI, which you said will be dropped!

Well there are other cities with large Hispanic populations that MX doesn't serve, CLT, ATL, SAN. In my opinion PHX the next logical choice.

Don't get too excited yet. How many routes have AeroMexico and Mexicana applied for, and have yet to start? Let's see...Toronto, Charlotte, Stockton, Philadelphia, Detroit, Washington Dulles...I'm sure I'm missing some. The flight isn't bookable yet, and I won't believe it until it is.

These will probably come in full to Phoenix and head back to Mexico empty, right?  Wink

At least the lines at T4 are no where near as bad as the ones in T2  yuck

And now we have MX and AM flying non-stop PHX-MEX

AM465 stops at HMO before going down to MEX, AM697 leaves roughly at the same time and goes nonstop. I've done the PHX-HMO segment many times and load factors were always 70% or better both ways.

See above, and yes, I did notice the wink. Just an FYI.

MEX-PHX and daily GDL-PHX

Are they doing the same scheme as AM? As in like, will they have one flight PHX-MEX nonstop and another one with a stop (PHX-GDL-MEX) daily?

Whoops, should've been more specific. I was talking about the luggage screening for connecting bags. I've had better nightmares than the current system.
