Since Terminal 3 (SH3) is under construction, SVO seems to introduce Terminal C at Sheremetievo-1 (SH1) for operations - new modern building, you may see it at the picture at the left part of the field and right of round building of Terminal 1 A (with pieces of red - winter photo looks like B&W one):
As they tell - it will be for the international flights for CIS and charters. The Terminal 1 A will be for domestic flights. If so - lucky me - at the moment Terminal looks completely out of room for passangers - demand is growing and the space was even reduced for the last years.

I wasn't even aware that Terimal 1 was getting a new wing! That's amazing since I knew that it is planned for a complete renovation? Will the Terminal have jet bridges as Terminal 1 currently does not. Why would they build a second international terminal, when Aeroflot will move completely to Terminal 3 once it's completed.

This is good news for SVO. Will the new wing of Terminal 1 have jetways or will passengers still be bussed to planes? Also any plans for a transport system around SVO to link all terminals, the suttle bus service is poor?
I am extraordinarily patient, provided I get my own way in the end.

I don't think that's the case. All SU and SkyTeam international flights will be out of SH3, rest of international flights will be out of SH2 (which is also going to get a complete overhaul), and all domestic service + CIS countries will be operating out of SH1.

If that is indeed a new wing of SH1, then SH1 must have the most eclectic collection of "wings" ever. The original building is like an old time railway station where planes happen to go, the second part is that weird (but cool) carosel thing, and now this snazzy new part all done-up in SU colors. I will miss the cats living in the baggage carosel though....
