I just received an e-mail announcing the newest airevents.com flight special. They want to fly an A330-300 into THF on the 8th of September. According to their website it will be the biggest commercial passenger flight landing at Berlin's small city airport. One way tickets start from 111 Euro, return tickets from 144 Euro. At THF the aircraft will do a sightseeing flight over Berlin. Furthermore the website says that additional flights on a DC-3 or AN-2 can be booked once you're in THF and it is possible to visit the historic airport buildings. For further details have a look at www.airevents.com .

I definitely plan to take part in that event. I have never flown an A333 nor I have flown into THF. If enough of you are interested we could also arrange a nice A.net meet at THF that day. I would take the one-way flight into Berlin on the 8th a nd and a return flight on LH, DBA or Germanwings. Berlin is a fun city with a great night life and since it is still half a year away from now cheap flights and accomodation should be available. What do y'all think?

Frederik

Sounds interesting, especially because it is on a Saturday. We could watch a Bundesliga game in the Olympiastadion and hitting the bars of Berlin afterwards. Maybe I will be there, I have to check some things first.

Patrick

Edit:

Fares from Berlin back to Dusseldorf on the next day are 67,08 EUR (Germanwings) and 77,03 EUR (dba), I didn't check Lufthansa because I don't fly on them. So 111 EUR for the LTU flight + the fare for the 4U or DI flight + a hotel room + drinks + food + taxi + entrance fee to whatever = a bit expensive for a weekend me thinks.

I dont think its too expensive. And if the flight back to DUS on Saturday is too expensive for you we could take the ICE train as well. Its fast and if you book well in advance its pretty affordable. Just stop smoking so much weed and you have the money within two weeks  Wink

You know what? That is actually true!

Seriously, I just talked with Seb on the phone and he is interested as well so chances are good that we will be there.

We could also rent a nice car (S-Class or so) but that would probably become too expensive, especially because of the one-way rent from Berlin to Bochum. I will check the fares though.

Patrick

Edit: I completely forgot that Seb and his band sue Universal Records at the moment, if they win the case we can charter a Privatair 757 for the flight back to DUS. Big grin
