Apparently, he (the former mayor of El Paso!) tried to go through security with a loaded .22...D'oh!

Wonder if it was a keychain pistol or something like that...

If you're going to the airport, which is one of the most secure places you can be, why do you have to carry a gun? What's so hard about leaving it at home? Put it in the closet. Or is it second nature for some people to place loaded ballistic weapons in their luggage? I don't get it.

Some people need a gun to keep themselves warm...not sure if Joe Wardy was one of those guys.

I wonder if he had a concealed handgun permit? (legal in TX to carry a concealed gun with one of these...)
