Ummmm, I think TG has lost the plot.

Firstly they reduce BNE capacity by routing the evening the SYD service via BNE.
This i can understand, because aircraft utlisation was poor.

Now they have will increase SYD to 19pw. Much better aircraft utlisation, but I wonder if they can sustain such growth.
Can anyone confirm how TG is doing at SYD? They must be recording VERY high load factors.

Here are the post June schedules.... don't know how long they will last.

excellent aircraft utlisation, and ALL of their network covered. All the best for them if they sustain it and can make it work.

I think you will find that when all is said and done, the actual seat availability to both SYD and BNE would be roughly equal to what it is now.

I would imagine that TG would allocate BNE a comparable number of seats for the evening flight as to what is available at present with the dedicated flights, plus it also has the benefits of offering a daily service.

For SYD likewise, the seating availability will be similar to the present, but with the added addition of the extra flight on most days, it will better compete with the likes of CX who offer 3 daily departures spread over morning, afternoon and night flights.

It will also be excellent to see the return of TG 777's to SYD.

Any idea when these additional services commence?
I plan on flying out on the 16th-17th of March of the morning service...

Being completely selfish here, TG in my opinion have lost the plot. I really don't like going via SYD on my way back to BNE from Asia. I loved flying the TG 777 to BKK but now the option is their ugly old 744's ....MH are going to do the same. Shame! I think I will fly SQ from now on.

They fly the 744's with the upgraded F and J class but unfortunatly Y remains unchanges on the 744's. The reason TG are doing this is because of the SYD curfew otherwise they would probably fly daily to BNE with a 772 BKK-BNE-BKK, this improves aircraft utilization big time for TG.

TG are probably increasing capacity before any mid-east carriers try SYD via BKK.

If EY are successful on the direct service, they will most likely try for double daily by using an existing service from either KUL or BKK.

Word was QR wanted to route via BKK to OZ. We know it will be a while for this to even eventuate.
