Anybody knows the reason why this flight was cancelled? Also how were the SIN passengers on this flight accomodated? I know that the MEL pax were ut on baord the SYD flight OS 001.
Is OS planning to stop this sector even before the scheduled end date of 25th?

Have no idea on the specific flight, but I'd say it wouldn't be unusual to cancel flights leading up to a closure of a route.. If you're homebound for Europe after March 25th, you are likely not to fly with OS going out either, so maybe the plane is just too empty to justify a 400.000 EUR trip to Australia

The last scheduled flight to operate the MEL-VIE route will be the OS-008, departing Melbourne on Saturday 24th March 2007 at 17:55 with estimated arrival time at VIE at 06:00+1.

This specific light had problems with one of the engines(too high EGT). First an engine change was deemed necessary but then GE technicians just worked out the problem on the engine.
Due to the time the maintenance work took the a/c couldn´t go anywhere and so OS007 was cancelled and a DEL flight was changed to A343.
Nope.. I had a colleague flying to MEL. He was put into OS 001 to SYD via KUL. No idea what happened to the SIN pax. Also dunno if the MEL pax were given a domestic connection in Australia.

I was travelling in the OS 033 frm VIE to DEL the same day and tht was a 772 not 343.
I was flying in from TLV and they made this onboard announcement that the SIN flight has been cancelled , no mention of MEL at all!! Dunno how many MEL pax onboard would hv realized that they were on the same flight!!!
