EK already flies to PEK and PVG, so it certainly would not want to jeopardise those routes. Really, the best option for TPE is to codeshare with CX or TG, rather than going through the rigmarole of a separate fleet.

still pending. as I said tongue in cheek a few weeks ago they are probably waiting for the US to approve those 66 F16s they wanted. given the Pentagon just announced an almost 400 million$ sale of amraams and maverick missiles for their air force, maybe this 747-8 order is slowly inching to fruition!
