Was just checking the schedules to see what the CDG-LAX routes looked like.
As always the ubiquitious 772s are on there along with the 77Ws, and has been the case for a little while now the 343s are operating the connecting PPT flight. Is there any plan to change this for the summer? Will we ever see Air France 744s at LAX again?
On a side note, have the 343s and 772s got the new Espace d'affaires like the 77Ws?

Hi everyone,
You probably won't see the 744 back at LAX, even though LAX has the traffic.
Edit to add : the 744s have been deployed on shorter routes like YYZ, BOS, YUL, JFK, and to ATL (starting this summer), in part for economical reasons : the 744 consumes a lot of fuel ... the company has decided to place them on routes that consume less fuel but still fill the seats.
The 744s no longer have Espace Premiere and LAX needs a first class cabin.
Regarding the new travel concept (NEV/NTC), all A330/340, 744, 77W have the new seats ... the 772s will be done by this summer, hopefully !

I don't think you are getting 744s anytime soon, as AF obviously wants to fly planes that have F class to LAX... and after reconfiguration their 744s don't. So the only flight that could be changed to 744 would be the PPT rotation and I somehow doubt that will happen...
as for Espace Affaires, the 343s are all reconfigured and the 772s are in the process of being done.... latest news are this should be finished by May. After that date all of AFs fleet should feature the new Biz class, if I'm not mistaken.

The B744 that was operating a thrice weekly CDG LAX PPT roundtrip has been replaced by A343 equipment. The A343 is positioned into LAX on Thursdays and operates LAX PPT LAX four days in a row before being flown back to CDG on Monday night. As such, there are no more direct flights between CDG and PPT. The route now requires a change of flight number and mostly also a change of plane at LAX.
The reason more routes are seeing the B744 deployed is that a number of B744 aircraft from the COI network are rejoining the mainline fleet as these aircraft are progressively being replaced with COI configured B77Ws on leisure routes to the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean. At the same time, two non-reconfigured, 3-class B744 aircraft, currently deployed on the DEL and YUL routes, are to be retired from the passenger fleet imminently and reconfigured to cargo aircraft.

F-GISA has already been taken out of passenger service.
On a side note, F-GLZA, an A340, has also left the fleet and will be flying with Iberia.
