Is AA planning any major international or domestic expansion out of their JFK facilty? Any plans to compete with DL or CO (EWR) on their network?

They haven't announced much except for the vegas flight. I can say though that there is plenty of room for expansion with the terminal that they just built.

Is AA's new JFK terminal complete? What's going on with that? Why aren't there any pictures of the new facility??

Not by a long shot...AA and Eagle combined have about 90 daily departures out of JFK (including the new LAS flight and the 6th SFO) compared to B6's 175-180 flights (not including their new SFO flights)....

Plus the bundle of flights they are ready to add when the new terminal opens up since they are restricted to growing out of JFK at Terminal 6 now and thats not what they want, since they like to add a new JFK flight every month it seems like.

I think with the original terminal plan by AA it seems like they were going to get up there in flights per day and maybe get #1 but with the modified smaller version of the terminal I don't think they will catch #1. They can grow internationally though and try to beat DL with int'l flights and maybe go after some connecting flights to the int'l flights, basically do what DL is already doing, but thats it, nothing crazy it looks like.

Even if AA wanted to, they are short of aircraft for any major expansion at JFK; their aircraft for the most part would be better deployed elsewhere than in trying to engage B6 and DL in an all-out war at JFK. On a # of daily flights basis, AA would also have a hard time catching up to DL since by this summer, DL should have about 190 daily departures out of JFK as well ( over 70 mainline and close to 120 DL Connection); however on the capacity side, AA is certainly up there as they have a fair number of 777s and AB6s out of JFK....
