I have travelled through AUH and DOH many times in the last 2-3 years and they are in NO WAY better than DXB or even BAH... or heck even BEY. Come on...... there is something wrong with this picture... wayyyyyyy wrong!!!!

i do not agree with abu dhabi as the best airport, last time i was in abu dhabi, it was hard to see the person standing next to you, because of all the cigaratte smoke, people smoke everywhere, it was like you are standing inside the smoking rooms, without any ventilation

I find these rankings highly incredulous ... I mean DOH displacing established airports like DXB off the list when the former doesn't even possess airbridges for boarding ? I am not saying DOH is a third-rate airport, but when it comes to rankings like these, there must be a certain sense of discrimination and consistency with other renowned ranking standards.
And AMS missing from the list of World's Best Airports? Well, everyone has their own opinions to assert, but there just isn't any convincing consistency between some of these rankings and other previously published ranking standards.
Just adding the impetus to the fact that these ranking standards are to be taken with a SACK of salt. :-P

Indigestion.
I can't believe DFW beat out DEN or DTW. Did AA slip someone on the voting committee a couple of free drink coupons or something? Know you all don't give a hoot, but I can think of 10 airports right now that are superior to DFW!
And I totally don't understand why SAN is in there, sure, an airport right in the middle of major American city is a nice feature, but!....PDX is much nicer in that category.

Out of curiosity have any of you been to DFW in the last 10-12 months? DFW is not what it was even a year ago. They have made sooooo many improvements to that airport to the point where its now my favorite airport to change planes it. Its nice, theyve cleaned it up, skylink is a dream and the international terminal is amazing. I can honestly say DFW is one of the easiest airports to go to/through now. SOOOO much better than ATL, ORD or my beloved LAX.
IAH is also a great airport. Texas must be doing somthing right.
DFW Fan Boy: Im crude, irreverent, and blunt, but Im not clueless. I offer no apologies.

Nothing against the city of Dallas, but I'm really surprised DFW is up there. I think its a great airport if Dallas is your final destination, but it has to be one of my least favorite airports to connect in.

Well I am in Dallas at least thrice a month, and occasionally fly into DFW, (though I usually hop aboard one of COEX's ERJs into DAL). Frankly, I have had many bad experiences at DFW, but those events admittedly were years ago. Still I can not see how DFW ranked so high (and no I am not suggesting that IAH had made the list. Frankly with those banjo gates at B from the airport's original 60s era design, probably hurt IAH's efforts in these rankings).

Congratulations on my hometown ADL to get ranked No# 2 in the 5-15mil pax. Hopefully we can gain No# 1 position next time!
I will be flying out of ADL to SYD in one months time (exactly) and can't wait to go through the airport which feels so spacious. Oh, and I will be posting a trip report for the trip!

Have you tried the new train? That makes interline or same airline connections very easy. Nice views of the airport, and airplanes, too.
Quoting DIA77 (Reply 20): Nothing against the city of Dallas, but I'm really surprised DFW is up there.
DFW is not only owned by Dallas, but by Fort Worth, too.
I do want to point out that this was a customer service award for DFW, and all those other airports. It has nothing to do with any airline, just the customer service functions the airports provide, like parking, ground transportation services, concessions, train service between terminals, and a few other functions.
