I know we have the other thread going, but we have a bunch of "I'm comings" mixed in what is now over 100 posts, so....just sign in here if you are planning on coming to make things simple.
One of the last posts in the other thread mentioned meeting at the Chili's at Touhy and Mannheim at 10:00 am. I think this a great spot to meet at first for the simple fact that it's easy to get to. For those of you flying in, driving in, taking cabs from O'hare, etc. it provides a big intersection for easy navigation. From there we can all decide on a spot, etc. etc.
Since I have not had the pleasure of meeting any of you in person, do we all want to meet say by the front door of the Chili's, otherwise we'll be all asking restaurant patrons/car parkers, are you with Airliners.net? or Here for the A380?
This is just adding on to a couple of previous suggestions, we all seem excited, or at least interested, it would be a shame for something not to materialize.

I'll be in town, I'm quite familiar with the area, plan to rent a car, and I would be interested in meeting fellow A.netters gathering for this event...particularly anyone who knows of good "spots" which won't be subject to interference from law enforcement officers.

Quoting United787 (Reply 5): I may be coming from the Blue Line / Rosemont stop and cabbing it from there. I am assuming if I do that, I can hitch a ride to the chosen spotting place!
that's the same thing I think I'm going to do. I am arriving arround 0730 and going to make a stop at the avaition store by the hilton, then take the train. For those asking, I believe the beast is due to arrive at 1300. More than likely it will be a 14R arrival. see you all there on Tuesday.!!!

Glad to see we have some for sure responses. Since there don't seem to be any objections, we will all meet at the Chili's at 10:00 by the front door. If it is 1:00pm arrival I'm sure we will be willing to wait for those of you arriving by plane. You probably won't need extra time since ORD is the most on-time airport in the world. (Sarcasm) Please pass the word on to as many a-netters as possible.

I'm going to be there, flying in, however I do not have the $$ to rent a car, as I'm saving for my vacation to AMS next month. I should be arriving around 10:30ish depending on if there is a GDP. My flight leaving ORD is booked solid, so as a non-rev, I might be leaving earlier than I'd like. If worse comes to worse I might take a WN flt out of MDW. Is the subway an easy way to get from ORD-MDW? Can't wait to see this bird!

Very easy, Blue Line subway to Orange Line elevated, free inter-line transfer at the Clark-Lake station in the "Loop." Due to "reduced speed" zones throughout the rapid transit system these days, I'd allow a minimum of 1 1/2 - 2 hours to make the trip. If you're more adventurous, you can also take the Blue Line from O'Hare to the Jefferson Park Station and take an express bus to MDW, however I'm not sure as to the frequency of the bus service. We don't really have anything set in stone besides the meet at Chili's witch I and maybe some others cant make. Thats why we should get a spotting location set before we all meet in the morning.
